With over 98% of ballots counted, I won the most votes of any City Council candidate. I am honored to continue representing my neighbors in La Mesa.
More than 500 people helped with the campaign, with volunteer calls, personal donations, and to post a yard sign. Thank you to everyone who helped. I could not have done it without the support from my friends, family, and our community.Read more
We have reached the final stretch of the campaign. With less than 2 weeks until Election Day, and record breaking early voting, now is a critical time to contact voters.
We have added phone banking shifts and have rolled out sign-waving shifts for Get-Out-The-Vote weekend. You can continue to support my campaign by signing up for shifts below:

I’m running for re-election to the La Mesa City Council!
Four years ago, La Mesa voted for change. In that time, we’ve made real progress.
- We revamped, (and then saved!) the Farmer’s Market,
- We adopted the first city-wide programs for housing affordability and formed La Mesa’s homelessness taskforce, and
- We adopted East County’s first enforceable Climate Action Plan.
I am running for reelection to keep our momentum, to ensure that La Mesa is a city that works for everyone.
Our city faces real challenges from COVID-19 and its economic shocks. We need real leadership to continue our progress through these unprecedented times. I have the passion for service, and the know-how to get things done for La Mesa.
I look forward to talking to you and our neighbors about my campaign (socially distanced of course!), but I can't do this alone. How you can help:
Now more than ever, La Mesa needs capable leadership to keep our city “the Jewel of the Hills.”
Thank you so much for your support!
Your La Mesa City Councilmember

Colin in the News: La Mesa’s certified Farmers’ Market gets to keep its downtown home
The La Mesa City Council last week voted to keep the popular Farmers’ Market on Fridays in the downtown Village.
With more than 60 people packed into council chambers and nearly 100 more watching a live feed from the fire station next door, the council voted 3-2 to allow current operator Brian Beevers and his Brian’s Farmers Markets to continue to manage the event though July 31, 2020, with some caveats.
